The Vic.
The Victory Cafe, known to locals as The Vic, can be found in Toronto's renowned Mirvish Village. At The Vic, we are passionate about community. We support local artists, farmers and brewers and host blues and jazz bands from Toronto and the surrounding community. Come to our beautiful English style pub and enjoy the laid-back atmosphere and the service of our hard-working and friendly staff. Enjoy a pint from our casks or any of our Ontario craft and micro-brews on tap with a delicious locally sourced meal. Please ask our staff to complement your meal with one of our fine beers—we love to do that for you here at The Vic!
After your time at The Vic, it's hard to tell if you are going home or leaving home!
About Our Chef
Our chef started at The Vic over 10 years ago as a prep-cook but when he got to know our clientele, the staff and the whole Vic community he decided to make The Vic his second home. Now the head chef, he takes pride in the pub style food he prepares but he also likes to flex his culinary muscles and bring a bit of flare the tables at The Vic. Come and dine on our savoury features, our authentic curries, or our amazing pasta specials! Or, sit down and enjoy our comfort foods like our famous macaroni and cheese, our fish and chips or our extremely popular burgers. Our chef created the menu at The Vic with our focus on delicious beers in mind. At the Vic, our meals complement our taps. Please ask your server to pair your food with one of our craft beers so that you can enjoy the best of our beers and the great tastes our chef prepares!
Mirvish Village
Coveiniently located on the subway line just west and south of Bloor and Bathurst, the neighborhood shares its history with the infamous Honest Ed's bargain store. Between 1959 and 1963, the late Ed Mirvish of Honest Ed's bought up the Victorian homes on Markam Street and converted the buildings into art studios and galleries with the help of his wife, Anne, a sculptor. Today, this dowtown Toronto neighbourhood boasts many independent video stores, bookstores, jewelry stores, antique shops, art galleries, vintage clothing shops and restaurants. Locals and visitors stroll through Mirvish Village, shopping, relaxing and enjoying some food and drink while taking in the people and sights along the vibrant tree-lined Markam Street.
